There are two things that matter to me when it comes to make-up: complexion and speed. I need my make-up to look as natural as possible and I want it on in under-10min for day-to-day wear. This is a reveiw of make-up products that just didnt work for me.

Hydra Vizor Huez Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum Mineral Spf 30 Sunscreen

I am so, so, so sad that I don’t like this product because I love the Fenty brand so much. I appreciate that they prioritize complexion inclusivity, edgy packaging, and genuinely high product value. First and foremost, it feels itchy on my skin. I don’t know why, because I don’t have sensitive skin, so the fact that it itches is concerning. That alone should have been enough for me to stop using it, but I thought maybe it was just the same tingly feeling I get from my exfoliating toner. The tint is packed with niacinamide, aloe, and Kalahari melon—and I’ve never used those ingredients on my skin before. The packaging is another issue. Its not travel friendly in the sense that if any preasure gets applied to the top, product squeezes out. It was just an all-round miss

NYX Pro-Fix Stick Correcting Concealer

Another product I really wanted to like! Right now, it seems like the majority of concealers on the market are liquid. While I have no problem with liquid concealers, they do take more time to apply. This concealer worked really well in terms of complexion—the color match was perfect. The thin pencil design also allows for a targeted, quick application. But it just doesn’t last. Compared to all my other concealers, this is the first to start creasing.

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in the color coconut cake

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil Multi-use eye crayon

I got this because I wanted to be able to do a full face in minimal time. While the shimmer shades in Coconut Cake and Yogurt I have make for beautiful highlight sticks, They only look good on the bridge of my nose. On the highpoints of the check, they look like I literally drew lines on my face. I bought another in the color Frappe primarily because NYX promises that they can function as eyeshadow primers—and I guess I was hoping for a miracle. I do have oily, hooded eyes, so I’m open to the possibility that I’ll always need some eye prep—but at the same time, if it promises to be a base, I expect it to work on any eyelid. Needless to say, it didn’t.

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream

I think tinted SPFs have conspired against me. This one was certainly better than the Hydra Vizor—its packaging is more travel-friendly, and it doesn’t make my skin itch!

But the shade wasn’t a great match—it leaned too warm, and any lighter would’ve looked ghostly on my skin.

In terms of performance, it blended decently and didn’t feel heavy or greasy, which I appreciate in a skin tint. It gave a light, natural finish that would be great for no-makeup makeup days—if the color had worked better for me.
