American capitalism truly knows no bounds when you can buy three different options of Christmas-themed laundry detergent! Conner and I wanted to create our own Christmas tradition because neither of us enjoys the labor that goes into setting up—and then taking down—the Christmas hoopla. I still wanted to create a sense of specialness around this time of year, so we decided on Orange Christmas. Basically, anything that smells like citrus or is the color orange can be included. This is our second Orange Christmas, and we’ve really upped our game: from a measly bottle of orange essential oil to an entire body-care collection built around citrusy scents!

Sundae Orange Crush Foaming Body Wash

I find this body wash ineffective at its primary function— cleaning the body—but it is so much fun to use the aerosol mechanism in the shower! This brand has the best orange-scented whipped texture (because this is America, and there are not one but two brands that sell whipped-cream body wash). It smells AMAZING: refreshing without being artificially sweet. The body wash keeps its texture when used with your hands, but I like to shower with a loofah, so I pair it with a plain Dove bar soap to get the foaming texture from Dove and the heavenly scent from this whipped cream wash.

Native Mango & Orange Blossom Deodorant Stick

Native was the first clean brand that genuinely worked well at keeping my underarms dry and provided an amazing scent. I don’t use it in my day-to-day life because it’s relatively expensive. But when Conner and I are traveling, I love packing the travel-size versions of Native’s deodorant sticks because they’re vegan (for Conner), effective, and space-efficient. And now, they’ve earned a spot in the Orange Christmas lineup!

Daise Peachey All Body Spray

I like topping off my underarm stick with a deodorant spray. As I write this, I am realisisng how much I could NOT survive the zombie apocolypse becase of all this shit I need! While Native has a drying spray that pairs with the Mango & Orange Blossom stick, Daise has a much nicer bottle and a very fresh, citrus scent. It’s also, surprisingly, half the price of the Native spray—so this one was a no-brainer. The also sell a body mist in the same scent but I already found an orange blossom perfume. This brand also sells a whipped-cream body wash, but unfortunately, they don’t make it in the peachy scent.

Solinotes Orange Blossom

I discovered this brand while flying between the States and South Africa during a layover in the Paris airport. I was struck by the fact that each of their fragrances emphasizes a single star note. It was very affordable, and when I landed, I learned it had gone viral on French TikTok! The Sweet Orange scent is truly unique, beautifully packaged, and very affordable. It also makes me feel so chic and worldy to own a fragrance that is viral in france?! It is available in the states on Amazon. Anthropologie does sel Solinotes, but not this particular fragrance.

Thank you so much for reading! I would love to know what your family christmas traditions are-- so send me a message!
